Online Transport is seeking an organized and highly motivated Claims Manager who is looking for an opportunity for growth within a growing family-owned company. The Claims & Insurance Manager will handle routine documenting of all claims, accident reports, tracking, internal/external customer/vendor claims and other claims functions. The Manager will assist with all Insurance management and handle Workman’s Compensation Insurance and Claims.
Description
- Will manage a team of Claims specialists who perform the daily, weekly, and monthly Claims processing and Review. Will be responsible for prioritizing the team’s weekly tasks based on need.
- Thoroughly investigate and process Claims (Cargo, Property, Work Comp, Auto Liability and Physical) from a variety of carrier and asset service issues.
- Determine the validity of claims, mitigate loss and exposure, consider and implement actions, resolving in a timely professional and judicious manner.
- Maintain claim documentation and records, filing in a timely manner in accordance with transportation laws and regulations.
- Maintain open communication with customers, carriers, insurance companies, legal teams, brokers, dispatchers, claims team and management.
- Work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to process payments.
- Assist with customer payment and overall satisfaction throughout claim process.
- Support cross-departmental efforts to reduce claim frequency through issue identification, process improvement and reporting.
- Develop claims training material, facilitating training sessions for operations and sales team.
- Serve as a liaison with insurance and legal counselors, adjusters and internal departments.
- Act as a point of contact for customer/adverse parties, providing professional and timely communication and updates.
- Continuously expand knowledgebase, using various forms of readily accessible information from industry experts, current events, and case precedent.
- Provide reporting to management as requested and maintain accurate claim tracking.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to develop, document and implement efficient procedures.
- Knowledge of DOT/FMSCA rules and regulations as it relates to Claims.
- Experience in transportation or logistics industry OR experience with processing claims.
- Ability to work on multiple, detailed, tasks in a time sensitive environment.
- Able to comply with company procedures and escalated issues as needed.
- Investigative and analytical mindset.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Google products.
- Intermediate knowledge of Transportation Management Systems, such as TMW or McLeod.
- Ability to understand Carrier and Customer contracts.
