Title: Claims Consultant – Commercial Auto / Liability Adjuster
Location: Chicago, Illinois (on-site)
Frederick Fox is partnering with an established excess & surplus lines insurance carrier, in business for more than 30 years, that specializes in hard-to-place risks. It's hiring experienced Claims Consultants to handle commercial liability claims from start to finish.
What you'll do
- Manage a caseload of about 120 files across commercial auto (30–40%) and other commercial lines, with 20–30% in litigation
- Investigate and determine liability and exposure on bodily injury and property damage claims
- Interview insureds, claimants, witnesses and agents, and take recorded statements
- Review police reports and medical records, and evaluate claims accurately
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys, and work with counsel on litigated files
What you bring
- 3–10 years of P&C claims experience (strong candidates outside that range will be considered)
- Commercial auto experience preferred. Personal auto with bodily injury exposure will also be considered.
- E&S experience is a plus
- A P&C adjuster license, or the ability to get one within 6 months
- College degree strongly preferred but not required. AIC, CPCU or similar designations are a plus.
