Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of civil‑site built environments and infrastructure such as land developments, commercial/retail projects, mixed used projects, roadway and utility, and streetscape enhancements
  • Evaluate design/construction‑related deficiencies associated with grading and drainage, stormwater management and stormwater conveyance, underground utility systems, erosion control, concrete flatwork, road design, maintenance of traffic, and hardscape systems
  • Experience with:
    • Design of roads including sight distance analysis, roadside design, vehicular use areas, parking lot design, pedestrian and vehicular ingress/egress ways.
    • Stormwater management design, hydrology, and modeling of retention/detention facilities, culverts, storm drain systems, and open channels. Knowledge of FEMA floodplains and regulations a plus.
    • Applicability of MUTCD including maintenance of traffic and underground utility markings and protection of utilities.
    • Preparation, permitting, and construction implementation of civil/site construction plans including NPDES permitting, sediment and erosion control design and inspections
    • Municipal zoning and variance hearings
  • Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
  • Responsible for retention and development of client relations
  • Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
  • Support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
  • Accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
