Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

- Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of civil-site built environments and infrastructure for large scale land developments, master planned communities, mixed used projects, commercial and industrial projects, roadway and utility, and streetscape enhancements n
- Evaluate design/construction-related deficiencies associated with grading and drainage, stormwater management and conveyance, underground utility systems and installation, erosion control, concrete flatwork, asphalt pavements, and hardscape systems n
- May investigate matters involving:n
- n
- design of site-visibility at intersections, vehicular use areas, parking lots, pedestrian and vehicular ingress/egress ways n
- the applicability of MUTCD and ADA standards n
- preparation, permitting, and construction implementation of civil/site construction plans related to DOT, water management districts, and various municipalities n
- municipal zoning and variance hearings n
- code, regulations, and standards interpretation and application. n
- Stormwater management quantity and quality design, above and below ground n
- Floodplain delineation n
- Stormwater collection and conveyance systems n
- Sediment and erosion control design and inspections n
- Hydrology and hydraulics design n
- Site grading design n
- Development processes during design and construction n
- Close out procedures of land development projects n
- Failure modes of infrastructure systems n
n - Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients n
- Responsible for retention and development of client relations n
- Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation n
- Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups n
- Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings n
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies n
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance n
- Regular and predictable presence at work n

Position Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required n
- Minimum of five (5) years of civil/site development experience n
- P. E. (Professional Engineer) registration required through testing n
- Must possess strong writing skills n
- Public speaking experience a plus n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills n
- Proficient with the following is a plus:n

- Ability to travel on a variable schedule, including 50% of the time locally and 20% of the time overnight n
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. n
- Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs n
- Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites n
- Ability to work at various heights on structures n
- Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces n
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing n
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues n
- Ability to drive in all conditions n
- Ability to fly on airplanes n
- Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts n
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site n
- Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications n
