Civil Project ManagerVerdantas is looking for a dynamic Civil Project Manager to help drive our expanding portfolio of projects in Vermont. This position has the option to work from our South Burlington, Sharon, or Newport, Vermont offices or remotely within Vermont.In this role, you'll oversee a variety of engineering and design initiatives for both private and municipal clients, while managing project delivery, client relationships, and the workload of technical staff. You'll also contribute to marketing efforts and business development under the guidance of senior leadership.

Named the #1 firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig Group, you'll be part of a team that values your impact, supports your growth, and celebrates your success every step of the way.What You'll Do:Oversee civil engineering design of municipal, commercial, residential, and institutional projects, including site design and permittingPrepare reports and permit applications related to civil engineering projectsDesign and manage various civil engineering-related projects, including drainage collection, detention, and treatment systems, water and wastewater systems, roads and parking areas, pedestrian facilities, stream crossings, and other related project typesDevelop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementationManage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are used efficiently and effectivelyMonitor project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and financial objectives are metIdentify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impactCommunicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders and senior managementEnsure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, meeting the required quality standardsLead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environmentMaintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and recordsWhat You Bring:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field4 years of professional experience in the practice of civil engineering in northern New England or a similar setting; Vermont design and permitting experience preferredExperience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3DTechnical experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, stormwater, and site design and permitting in Vermont or a similar regulatory environmentSound understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including stormwater/drainage design, surface water hydrology, water and wastewater systems, and roadway/parking designProject management experience or management ability and willingness to learnValid driver's license and personal vehicle; occasional travel requiredAbility to complete field work, including carrying equipment and walking on undeveloped sitesSalary Range:The compensation range starts at $105,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.Benefits:Flexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
