Civil Project Engineer

Civil Project EngineerWe have an exciting career opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer looking to contribute to the strategic growth initiatives of our Illinois Civil group. In this role, you will both self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of infrastructure projects and play an essential role in managing client relationships.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil transportation design, demonstrating proficiency in areas such as geometrics, traffic highway, and drainage design. Previous experience utilizing MicroStation and Geopak is required.This position provides a flexible work schedule, with three days working from the Chicago, IL office and two days remotely.The impact you will have includes:Completing project design plans and working closely with Project Managers, integrating data and performing fundamental analysis of project elementsWorking on a broad range of projects for municipal, public, and private clientsEstablishing project goals and milestones, defining responsibilities, coordinating resources, and monitoring project progressEnsuring the development of high-quality engineering documents, including adhering to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project trackingChampioning relationships with key clients throughout IllinoisContributing to other project work as a technical specialist or advisor, as neededRepresenting Benesch at industry events and having active involvement in professional organizationsWhat we are looking for includes:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required5+ years of civil transportation design experience, including geometrics, traffic highway, and drainage design using MicroStation and Geopak.Licensed Project Engineer (P.E) in the state of Illinois.Experience working with Illinois DOT/ Federal Aid Local Agency and being well-versed in applicable codes and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with internal staff, clients, contractors, agencies, and the publicThe expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act, Illinois Pay Transparency Law.

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.Our benefits package is designed to take care of our employees and is compliant with the State of Illinois Paid Leave Act, Illinois Paid Leave Act.
