Airdo Werwas, LLC, is actively seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its vibrant national practice. Our firm handles a broad range of complex matters in a variety of areas, including nonprofit and local government law, complex tort and healthcare defense, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation, as well as municipal and local government law, real estate development, and other transactional matters. We are also privileged to serve as National Coordinating Counsel for nonprofit and religious clients across the country. The new attorneys will be tasked with representing clients in municipal prosecutions and will be assisting with the firm's litigation caseload in both federal and state courts. Ideal candidates will have 3 to 7 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on the defense of complex tort and civil litigation matters and demonstrated experience or interest in representing nonprofit, religious, and/or other tax-exempt organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • J.D. from ABA accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on litigation experience.
  • In good standing with the Illinois bar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Availability to work in person.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate general and complex tort matters, both locally and nationally.
  • Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.
  • Prepare and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
  • Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports.
  • Assist with and participate in court appearances, mediations, and trials.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year, based on experience
