Civil Estimator - Chicago, IL
Metric Geo is confidentially partnered with an established heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Estimator to its team in the Chicago market.
The focus is on candidates with a strong background in civil construction estimating, covering earthwork, highway, roadway, and infrastructure projects. IDOT or DOT experience is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids.
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Work closely with Operations and Project Management teams to develop bids.
- Identify project risks, cost efficiencies, and value engineering opportunities.
Ideal Background
- Estimating experience within civil or heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of earthwork, roadway, highway, or infrastructure projects.
- IDOT or DOT estimating experience advantageous.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, quantities, and bid preparation.
