nPurpose of Position
nIndividuals in this position plan, design, and manage projects for the organization. These projects include land development (retail, healthcare, industrial, commercial, educational, institutional, municipal), utility distribution (storm, sanitary, watermain, electrical ductbank, thermal utilities), and municipal design and inspection.
nEssential Functions:
nDiscuss requirements with the client and other professional
nAnalyze survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling software
nDraw up plans, using CAD packages, primarily Civil 3D
nConsider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis.
nMake judgments whether projects are workable by assessing materials, costs and time requirements
nAssess the environmental impact and risks connected to project
nPrepare bid documents for clients
nManage, direct and monitor progress during each phase of a project
nEnsure sites meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.
nPresent findings to the public on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or property description
nManage the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure.
nSet up modeling files for projects and create design drawings

Physical Demands of Position
nWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and/or carry up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
nEnvironmental/WorkingConditions
nEngineers generally work in offices. However, many spend time outdoors at construction sites so they can monitor operations or solve problems onsite.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Current Wisconsin Engineer credential or ability to obtain within 2 years
n -
2 – 10 years experience working in the Civil Engineering industry.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills are beneficial

Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, WinSLAMM

Proficient with Microsoft Office O365, Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam
