Overview
nWe are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the assessment, maintenance, and ongoing operation of critical infrastructure assets within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.
nThis role is ideally suited to engineers with a strong background in civil and structural engineering design, particularly those with experience working on complex infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and fit for purpose throughout its lifecycle.
nKey Responsibilities
nProvide technical expertise in the specification, production, and assessment of infrastructure design packages.
nConduct site inspections and asset walkdowns, producing associated technical and safety documentation.
nDefine reliability requirements and operational constraints for infrastructure assets.
nReview and assess maintenance procedures and work control processes.
nEvaluate infrastructure design, material condition, ageing mechanisms, and asset qualification to support continued safe operation.
nPromote and maintain a strong safety culture.
nEnsure contractor outputs meet technical, contractual, and safety requirements.
nEssential Experience
Experience assessing the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures subject to dynamic loading, including seismic, blast, wind, rain, and snow loads.
nExperience working with marine structures, jetties, reinforced concrete, and steelwork assets.
nAbility to produce robust technical justifications to support civil and structural design modifications within a high-hazard or highly regulated environment.
nExperience applying engineering principles across the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of infrastructure assets.
nStrong understanding of engineering standards and the application of both established and emerging technologies.
nDegree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
nDesirable Experience
Previous experience working within nuclear, defence, energy, utilities, or other safety-critical industries.
nKnowledge of safety case development techniques, including HAZID and HAZOP studies.
nExperience supporting complex infrastructure projects within regulated environments.
nChartered Engineer (CEng) status, or equivalent level of professional experience.
