AECOM Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our Geo‑Civil team. Our strong presence in the region opens the doors to significant and interesting projects in the mining, dams, and power sectors. Responsibilities
* Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well‑defined procedures
* Proposes an approach to solve new problems encountered and identifies discrepancies in results
* Provides guidance to entry level engineers
* Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
* Undertakes preliminary and detailed design activities
* Ensures designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
* Prepares engineering related calculations and creates estimates
* Reviews quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy
* Prepares technical memoranda, preliminary, detailed design reports, and technical specifications
* Utilizes AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis to prepare design models, drawings, plans, sections, details, profiles/sections, and develop visual aids
* Works under supervision of a project manager or senior‑level team member
* Oversees and directs data collection and analysis activities
* Develops engineering design skills through periodic field experience, including construction support, site inspections, and geotechnical investigations
* Provides construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions
* Works as part of a team to complete assignments
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Valid US Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong technical progression within Civil Engineering and Design
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Ability to travel
* 4+ years experience
* EIT Certification is strongly preferred
* PE preferred

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $75000 to $ .
