Litigation Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a growing and well-regarded litigation firm in Venice, California. This is an excellent opportunity for driven attorneys looking to take on meaningful responsibility and grow with a dynamic, expanding practice. Multiple associate positions are available.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day litigation matters and supervise junior staff as appropriate
- Develop and execute discovery strategies, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting meet-and-confer correspondence, and preparing motions to compel
- Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions, including oppositions to summary judgment
- Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations
- Appear in court, argue motions, and attend hearings
- Meet directly with clients and prepare them for depositions and trial
- First- or second-chair trial experience and insurance defense experience are a plus
Qualifications:
- Active admission to the California State Bar
- 2–7+ years of substantive litigation experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000–$220,000, commensurate with experience
