CityVet Externship Program, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students the opportunity to gain hands‑on clinical experience in a veterinarian‑led practice environment.
This program is designed for students seeking meaningful mentorship, real‑world clinical exposure, and insight into practice models centered on autonomy, collaboration, and long‑term career growth.
Program Overview
- Eligibility: 3rd and 4th‑year DVM students at AVMA‑accredited veterinary schools
- Duration: Two‑week externship blocks, with flexibility to accommodate university rotation requirements
- Stipend: Competitive stipend, paid via direct deposit on the first Friday of the rotation
- Locations: CityVet clinics available across multiple states
- Housing: Housing is not provided; CityVet can share accommodation recommendations from prior externs
- International students: Eligible if enrolled at an AVMA‑accredited university and authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available at this time
