Cisco Network Engineer

Network EngineerApex Systems is seeking a Network Engineer for a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a large enterprise environment. This position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, troubleshooting complex networking issues, supporting security initiatives, and assisting with ongoing modernization projects across multiple locations.The ideal candidate is a well-rounded Cisco Network Engineer with strong routing, switching, VPN, firewall, and infrastructure experience who can operate independently and contribute immediately with minimal training.Location:Austin, TX preferredHybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)Occasional travel as neededContract-to-hire opportunityPrimary Responsibilities Network Infrastructure Support:Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Cisco network environmentsSupport routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and WAN technologiesMaintain network availability across multiple locationsTroubleshoot network connectivity and performance issuesSupport network security initiatives and infrastructure upgradesParticipate in hardware refreshes, migrations, and modernization projectsCoordinate with internal teams, vendors, and technical stakeholdersNetwork Operations & Security:Support firewall administration and network security controlsAssist with monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response activitiesSupport remote connectivity solutions and VPN technologiesAnalyze network performance and recommend improvementsSupport enterprise wireless infrastructureData Center & Infrastructure Operations:Rack and stack network equipmentInstall and replace switches, routers, and supporting infrastructureManage fiber and cabling connectionsSupport data center operations and maintenance activitiesAssist with network deployment and expansion projectsEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
