Build the Infrastructure That Keeps Sandy Springs MovingThe City of Sandy Springs is seeking two experienced and highly motivated CIP Field Superintendent to oversee field operations for critical Public Works Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). This position plays a key role in ensuring that construction projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.If you have a strong background in construction inspection, contractor management, infrastructure projects, and municipal construction standards, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on one of Georgia's most dynamic and rapidly growing cities.What You'll DoAs the CIP Field Superintendent, you will serve as the City's on-site representative for capital construction projects and be responsible for:Managing and inspecting daily construction activities performed by contractorsMonitoring project schedules, productivity, quality, and contract complianceConducting and documenting field inspections and maintaining construction recordsMeasuring completed work and reviewing contractor pay applicationsVerifying contractor and subcontractor compliance with contract requirements, wage regulations, payroll documentation, material certifications, and testing reportsLeading contractor progress meetings and coordinating project communicationsEnsuring compliance with OSHA requirements and traffic control standards, including MUTCD guidelinesCollaborating with City staff, utilities, contractors, and residents to resolve project issuesAssisting with bid package development and project planning activitiesParticipating in Public Works after-hours on-call rotations and emergency response operationsIdentifying project risks, schedule concerns, and field conflicts while helping develop practical solutionsWhat We're Looking ForMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDFive (5) years of construction contract field delivery experience in a municipal or government environmentKnowledge of construction engineering principles, inspection practices, contract administration, and financial management requirementsFamiliarity with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) standards and specificationsValid Georgia driver's license with the ability to operate a City vehicleProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related fieldEight (8) or more years of construction engineering, inspection, or testing experienceWorking knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)Why Join Sandy Springs?This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that directly improve transportation, safety, and quality of life for nearly 110,000 residents.
