This role is responsible for processing customer-supplied files and converting them into accurate CAD files ready for manufacturing.The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of die-making processes and converting operations, with the ability to ensure precision, efficiency, and production readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram and design flat steel rule dies using Cimex CAD softwareProcess customer-supplied artwork and convert files into production-ready CAD formatsCreate CAD files for:Phenolic countersSteel counter platesMale and female stripping toolsUpper and lower blanking toolsSpot sheets and mylarsGenerate CNC-ready files for routers, lasers, rule processors, and milling equipmentInterpret customer artwork, structural drawings, and production specificationsApply correct rule heights, crease profiles, tolerances, and material allowancesOptimize nesting layouts and material utilizationTroubleshoot programming and production issues with toolmakers and press operatorsMaintain organized digital archives and proper revision controlRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience programming steel rule dies and related toolingProficiency with CIMEX CAD softwareStrong understanding of:Steel rule die manufacturing processesDie cutting and converting operationsCounter plate design and stripping tool configurationAbility to read and interpret structural drawings and dielinesKnowledge of rule types, rubber types, and material behaviorPreferred QualificationsExperience in folding carton, corrugated, label, or packaging industriesFamiliarity with laser cutting systems and rule bending equipmentUnderstanding of make-ready reduction techniquesKnowledge of press setup and die cutting performance optimizationSkills & CompetenciesHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong mechanical aptitudeProblem-solving mindsetAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesEffective communication with production and programming teamsCompensation & Benefits$85,000 – $100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays
