Chiller Technician

The Chiller Technician is our highest level of Service Technician. The Chiller Technician is capable of diagnosing and repairing all levels of HVAC equipment, including very large and sophisticated chiller plants. The Chiller Technician has at least two certifications in the repair of chiller plants such as McQuay or Daiken and is capable of complete teardowns and rebuilds of the plants.

Job Duties Include:

  • Trouble shoot VFDs, control issues, change compressors perform maintenance
  • Perform combustion analysis, troubleshoot water and air flow issues. Repair and verify correct operation of boilers.
  • Diagnose compressor, motor and starter issues with Wye Delta, AFD and solid state starters, tear down and rebuild as necessary compressors, oil pumps and starters. Perform leak searches on low pressure chillers, Megha-Ohm compressor motors. Experience in Turbor Core and Centrifugal compressors a plus. Trouble shoot water flow issues control issues related to chiller operation.
  • Trouble shoot signal and control issues related to control valves.
  • Trouble shoot water flow issues and determine deficiencies in performance issues. Tear down, clean and reassemble with new gaskets.

Additional Requirements:

  • Over 5 years field experience plus specialized training.
  • Provide all information from each service call to the dispatcher before leaving job site and document work by accurately completing paperwork and maintaining files.
  • Provide initial and follow-up training at customer sites.
  • Expand business by discussing other services available.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Computer skills are a must; working knowledge of Microsoft / Word / Excel / Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, pre-hire drug screen required and ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
