Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician team performs L1–L3 pre-commissioning activities on HVAC systems in a data center construction environment. The team is responsible for completing punch list repairs, including minor electrical, mechanical, and HVAC work, to ensure systems are installed, tested, and ready for operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform L1–L3 pre-commissioning activities on HVAC systems in a data center construction environment.
- Complete mechanical and electrical punch list items under the supervision of the project leadership team.
- Complete HVAC and chiller punch list items under the supervision of the project leadership team.
- Carry out minor electrical, mechanical, and HVAC repairs as directed, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers, and associated mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform corrective actions.
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to ensure reliable operation of HVAC and related systems.
- Handle refrigerant during repairs when required, in compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all applicable safety protocols during maintenance and repair activities.
- Use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment while working in an industrial and construction setting.
- Collaborate with other technicians and project leaders to complete assigned tasks and punch list items on schedule.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair within industrial or construction environments.
- HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including work on chillers and boilers.
- Electrical maintenance skills sufficient to complete minor electrical punch list items safely and accurately.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in performing installation and service work on HVAC and mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC issues.
- Understanding and practical application of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a construction environment at a data center.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification.
- NFPA 70E certification (2025).
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training and certification.
- EPA Universal 608 certification for handling refrigerants.
- Licensing to handle refrigerants during repairs, where required.
- Willingness to obtain or update NFPA 70E or LOTO certifications prior to onboarding if not currently held.
- Experience working as a maintenance technician in industrial or data center environments.
- Familiarity with construction safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to provide and use personal tools appropriate for mechanical and HVAC work.

Work Environment
This role is based in a construction environment at a data center, working around active mechanical, electrical, and HVAC installations. The work involves pre-commissioning, maintenance, and punch list activities on HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and related equipment. There is a three-hour safety orientation hosted by the general contractor on the first day to review site rules, safety procedures, and expectations. Personal protective equipment is provided, while technicians are expected to bring their own tools suitable for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC work. The environment is industrial and construction-oriented, requiring adherence to safety protocols, use of PPE, and readiness to work around large equipment and active construction activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
