Job Summary

Child Nutrition Manager in an elementary school responsible for the management of a kitchen, including food preparation, service, training, inventory, financial records, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, monitor, and assist kitchen team with timely preparation and serving of high-quality, safe menu items, cashiering, and cleanup.
• Ensure compliance with Health Department standards, safety procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate daily production records, inventory, and control food quality, costs, and waste.
• Assist with meal preparation, service, and support kitchen operations to increase meal participation.
• Provide orientation and on-the-job training for kitchen personnel; perform performance evaluations.
• Verify meal counts, deposits, and change funds for accuracy.
• Communicate and coordinate with school staff, parents, and supervisors to resolve issues and ensure superior customer service.
• Attend required departmental training and ensure staff compliance with district directives.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience in institutional food service operations or related field; supervisory experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Licenses and Certifications

• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Laramir County Food Safety Training required after hire.
• ServSafe Certification required annually.

Pay Range: $24.69–$27.65 per hour. Hours/day: 8 (daily hours and start times vary by location). Work calendar days: 178. Duration: Ongoing.
