Child Neurologist

Sanford Health is seeking two BE/BC Child Neurologists to join the Sanford Children's Specialty Clinic, a multi-specialty pediatric clinic. This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established pediatric subspecialty practice, contribute to comprehensive regional clinical pediatric neurology services, and maintain academic interests. The position involves providing specialized care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents within a leading healthcare system.

Practice Info

• Join 3 pediatric neurologists and 2 NP's, with a goal of 4 pediatric neurologists
• Sanford Children's is a well-established pediatric subspecialty practice which includes 70+ sub-specialists
• Ability to maintain an academic interest and help develop comprehensive regional clinical pediatric neurology services
• Faculty appointment with the University of SD Sanford School of Medicine, teaching responsibilities include medical students, as well as pediatric & neurology residents
• Established a neuromuscular, neurocutaneous, and neuro-genetics clinic
• Sanford Children's Hospital has 146 beds and is the only free-standing children's hospital in the state of SD

Responsibilities

• Read EEGs
• Admit (if applicable to the setting)
• Perform history and physical examinations
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to neonates, infants, children and adolescents

Requirements

• BE/BC Child Neurologist
• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of a Child Neurology residency accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
• Preference given to candidates with epilepsy training
