Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:30 AM- 6:30 PM

Are you passionate about shaping young minds and creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can grow and thrive? As a Child Care Lead Teacher II at Novant Health's Learning Place, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional early childhood education and care.

  • Uphold the center's goals, guidelines, and high standards of care
  • Ensure full compliance with North Carolina Division of Child Development regulations and Health Department sanitation requirements
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children, families, and team members feel valued and supported

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Two year Associates Degree, required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
  • Experience: minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: NC Credentials or equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit, required. Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required. ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire (infants up to 12 months of age), required.
  • Additional Skills (required): DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 5 years), and Workforce letter (within 60 days of hire) or education verification until workforce letter is obtained. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. BSAC required for those working with school age children. CDL for school age if driving the buses. NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire CPR/First Aid completion within 2 months of hire. ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training) for teachers work in the classroom infants up to 2 years of age within 2 months of hire.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Playground Safety training
