Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join its outpatient practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to child and adolescent patients with various mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders. The successful candidate will become part of a large, growing not-for-profit health system dedicated to health and healing.
Practice Info
- Join the Sanford Psychiatry and Psychology Clinic, an outpatient practice.
- The practice team includes physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and nursing and front desk support staff.
- Initial new patient appointments are 60 minutes in length.
- Follow-up medication management appointments are 30 minutes in length.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treat child and adolescent patients who suffer from mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders (e.g., psychoses, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, developmental disabilities, sexual dysfunctions, and adjustment disorders).
- Provide consultation to children and adolescents who suffer from developmental, mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders.

Requirements
- BC/BE Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychiatry residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychiatry residency program with two additional years of residency training in child and adolescent psychiatry accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
