Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Open Rank

Position Summary

The UNC Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry seeks a psychiatrist to provide inpatient clinical services to children and young adults in the Child & Adolescent inpatient and outpatient programs. This is a full-time fixed-term clinical position with an anticipated rank based on qualifications. The role includes at least 50% inpatient duty with potential up to 100% inpatient work, and may include outpatient care (in-person or virtual). Duties also encompass teaching and supervising fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees across disciplines.

Education & Experience Requirements

• MD or DO, board-certified (BC) or board-explorable (BE) in psychiatry
• Eligibility for North Carolina licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong clinical skills and demonstrated teaching ability to facilitate educational experiences for medical students, residents, fellows, other health care trainees, and clinicians.
• Clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults.

Location & Schedule

Work will be based at the new Child & Adolescent Psychiatry facility in Butner, NC, primarily within the adolescent inpatient setting and the young adult unit.
