Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join their team at Sanford Children's Hospital and the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for a physician to engage in clinical child abuse practice, teaching, prevention work, research, and community involvement within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be centered at Child's Voice, an NCA accredited hospital-based Child Advocacy Center, providing medical evaluations for over 1400 patients annually.

- The role is centered at Child's Voice, an NCA accredited hospital-based Child Advocacy Center (CAC).
- Child's Voice provides medical evaluation for over 1400 patients each year.
- The program currently consists of a pediatric medical director, a BC CAP, a PA, a NP, 3 forensic interviewers, nurses, patient support staff, and family advocates.
- Clinical service will be the primary focus of this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical child abuse practice.
- Engage in teaching, prevention work, research, and community involvement in the multidisciplinary team.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health.
- Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses.
- Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies (if applicable to setting).
- Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.

Requirements
- BC/BE in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
- Outstanding clinical skills in child abuse assessment within a multidisciplinary setting.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- Candidates not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
- Interest and experience in education and/or research (preferred).
