Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Child Abuse Pediatrician to join their Child Abuse Referral and Evaluation Clinic in Fargo, ND. This role involves working with the region's largest team of pediatric specialists and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for children. - Team includes physician specialty trained in child abuse pediatrics and Nurse Practitioners
- Works with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, peds ortho, trauma team, behavioral health, radiology, and primary care providers
- In-house 24/7 pediatric hospitalist coverage
- Sanford Medical Center houses a 12-bed PICU with additional flex beds, a 24-bed pediatric unit, and a 40-bed Level III NICU
- 27 outpatient pediatric medical subspecialty providers covering all specialties
Responsibilities
- Medical evaluation of children with physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect concerns
- Forensic medical evaluation for child abuse
- Evaluations involving child pornography
- Hospital consultation
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health
- Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses
- Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies
- Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services

Requirements
- BC/BE in Child Abuse Pediatrics
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
- Demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of residency or if quality profile is not available)
