Chief Technical Advisor

Engagement Type: Consulting (6 months), with possible conversion to full-time direct hire

Location: Hybrid or remote — candidate can ideally travel into the NYC office periodically

About the Role

Our client, is undertaking a critical migration from its in-house medical system to a cloud-based (SaaS) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform. They are seeking an experienced CTO Advisor / vCTO to step in and lead this initiative through completion.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can provide strategic technical oversight while also keeping the project — and the internal team — on track day to day. The engagement begins as a 6-month consulting arrangement, with the possibility of converting to a full-time position based on fit and business need.

Key Responsibilities

• Own overall technical oversight of the migration from the client's legacy in-house medical system to a new SaaS-based EMR platform
• Drive the project to completion by the target deadline
• Keep the project on schedule, proactively identifying and resolving risks, blockers, and dependencies
• Motivate, guide, and support the internal technical team throughout the migration
• Serve as a technical advisor to leadership on infrastructure, data, and architecture decisions related to the migration
• Coordinate across the organization's affiliated providers to ensure a smooth transition
• Provide regular status updates and elevate risks to executive stakeholders as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven technical background
• Prior experience as an Architect (Solutions, Enterprise, or similar) strongly preferred
• Experience implementing healthcare/EMR systems required
• Strong project leadership skills — able to keep cross-functional teams on task and motivated under deadline pressure
• Comfortable operating as an interim/fractional executive (vCTO/CTO Advisor), balancing hands-on involvement with strategic guidance
• Flexibility to come into the Midtown NYC office as needed
• Duration: 6 months, with potential conversion to full-time employment
• Deadline-Driven Deliverable: Full EMR migration
• Work Model: Primarily remote/flexible, with periodic in-person requirements at the Midtown NYC office
