Texell Credit Union is seeking an experienced, energetic, and forward-thinking Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to safeguard and strengthen the organization’s long-term health. The CRO will lead enterprise risk management, regulatory relationships, compliance, and legal affairs, and ensure effective communication of policy changes across all departments. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the executive leadership team, the CRO will act as the primary liaison for state regulatory examinations and supervisory correspondence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise risk management and regulatory relationships.
- Oversee compliance, legal affairs, and ensure effective policy communication.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative developments, advising the CEO and Board of Directors on emerging risks.
- Promote a risk‑aware culture across all lines of business.
- Serve as primary liaison for state regulatory examinations and supervisory correspondence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in financial services with significant experience in risk management, compliance, legal, or human resources.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor or other advanced degree valued but not required.
- Experience with BSA/AML compliance, including a Bank Secrecy Act Officer function.
- Government affairs or legislative advocacy experience at the state or federal level highly desirable.
Compensation
