Onsite Contract Management & Leadership

This Role Is Not For Everyone .It Might Be For You.

For over 25 years, Mavagi Enterprises, Inc. (MEI) and E.Q.U.I.P. Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) have created meaningful employment for veterans and people with disabilities through federal contracts under the AbilityOne/JWOD Program and EEI's WorksWonders program. Together, these two nonprofit organizations form a mission-driven, people-first enterprise built on real contracts, real accountability, and real impact. This is not a supporting role. This is the person who keeps both organizations running, growing, and delivering on the promise that brought them into existence. You will own internal operations across two entities, lead a team of directors, and report directly to the CEO. When the CEO is unavailable, you are the organization. You see around corners. You make decisions and stand behind them. You hold people accountable without losing them. You can sit in a board meeting and walk a contract site on the same day and be exactly who the moment needs in both places.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in a senior executive or C‑suite leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience owning full organizational operations across multiple functions, not just managing one department

  • Working knowledge of employment law, including ADA, EEOC, FMLA, workers’ compensation, and wage and hour regulations
  • Proven experience with federal and/or state government contracts
  • Board‑level communication skills, written and verbal, with the confidence to present, defend, and drive decisions at the executive table
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all contract screening requirements

Preferred

  • Experience leading multiple nonprofit organizations simultaneously or managing a dual‑entity structure
  • Familiarity with the AbilityOne program, WorksWonders, SourceAmerica, or disability employment frameworks
  • Experience in contract and grant development, proposal drafting, and Statement of Work development
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, not required but a meaningful differentiator in our workforce environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Own all internal operations across MEI and EEI, including daily execution, site performance, service delivery continuity, and organizational accountability
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of directors and managers, including HR, ensuring a high‑performing and mission‑aligned organizational environment
  • Evaluate performance against strategic and contractual goals and act decisively when corrections are needed
  • Serve as the acting organizational authority when the CEO is unavailable

Financial Oversight and Revenue Performance

  • Own the financial management of both organizations including budget development, P&L oversight, financial reporting, and cost control
  • Drive revenue performance and identify opportunities to grow the business without compromising workforce quality or mission integrity
  • Ensure federal and state government contract performance and compliance obligations are met across both entities
  • Execute documents and commitments for which the organization is legally liable
  • Lead contract renewals and day‑to‑day partnerships, and bring expansion opportunities and longer‑term strategic decisions to the CEO for alignment before moving forward

People, Compliance, and Culture

  • Hold ultimate accountability for compliance across both organizations including ADA, EEOC, FMLA, workers’ compensation, AbilityOne/JWOD, WorksWonders program requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local law
  • Exercise hiring and separation authority for director‑level roles and below, in partnership with HR
  • Partner with the CEO to build and sustain a culture of accountability, dignity, and mission alignment where the people we employ are not a program requirement but the point of the work
  • Ensure seamless alignment between HR, field supervisors, and corporate operations so nothing falls through the gaps

Strategic Leadership and Executive Partnership

  • Partner with the CEO and board of directors to design and execute the operational mission, organizational values, and long‑term strategic goals
  • Present to the board of directors at the CEO’s direction with clear, confident, data‑informed reporting on operational performance, risk, and opportunity
  • Maintain sharp awareness of the competitive landscape, contract environment, workforce trends, and industry developments
  • Drive grant development, proposal strategy, and Statement of Work development in alignment with priorities set jointly with the CEO

Required Skills

  • Executive operations and organizational leadership
  • Financial management, budgeting, and P&L oversight
  • Government contract compliance and performance
  • Employment law and HR compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Board‑level communication and executive presentation
  • Strategic planning and business development
  • People leadership, accountability, and culture building
  • Nonprofit governance and dual‑entity management
  • Contract and grant development
  • AbilityOne/JWOD and WorksWonders program knowledge
