Northwell Health is seeking a physician leader to serve as Chief, Urology at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a culture of scholarship within the Department of Urology. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and excellence of urologic care within the largest health system in the New York Metropolitan area.

  • Part of Northwell Health's Department of Urology, which has experienced significant growth in Long Island, New York City, and Westchester over the last 10 years.
  • Physicians have vast experience in minimally invasive procedures to treat all urologic diseases.
  • The group holds weekly conferences to stay updated on the latest treatments and technologies.
  • The department has residencies and an extensive network of physician extenders.
  • Physicians are faculty of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the urology system chair and regional director on all matters related to clinical operations.
  • Ensure high quality patient care through development and standardization of care processes and protocols.
  • Continue to develop a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity and outcomes.
  • Ensure the productivity of physician faculty and support staff.
  • Maintain and improve upon the excellence within the department.

Compensation

  • Full-time clinical base compensation ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, impacted by various factors including physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience, and productivity.

Requirements

  • M.D. Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine.
  • Completion of residency and fellowship with Board Certification or eligibility.
  • Currently licensed as a physician in the State of New York.
  • Outstanding communication and management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and staff.
  • Previous division, department, or program leadership.
