Act as a high-trust execution partner to the CEO, extending decision-making capacity, driving cross-company execution, and ensuring that Computational Co’s most important priorities move from intent to reality.
This is a senior operator role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, values accountability, and can operate across strategy, execution, and sensitive organizational context.
Why this role exists
Computational Co is building foundational compute infrastructure at a rare architectural inflection point. Doing this well requires not just strong engineering, but tight execution across people, priorities, partners, and time.
As CEO, Sunil is deeply involved in technology, fundraising, partnerships, and long-horizon strategy. This role exists to absorb and resolve execution load, surface real issues early, ensure decisions turn into outcomes, and prevent organizational drag as the company scales.
What you will own
- Translating CEO priorities into executable plans across engineering, research, operations, and go-to-market
- Driving cross-functional initiatives where ownership is ambiguous but outcomes matter
- Acting as a trusted internal sounding board for strategy, tradeoffs, and sequencing
- Owning preparation, follow-through, and execution on critical meetings (board, investors, partners, government stakeholders)
- Identifying bottlenecks in execution and resolving them decisively
- Ensuring accountability without bureaucracy
What you will build
- Lightweight operating rhythms that scale without slowing the team
- Clear ownership boundaries as the org grows
- High-signal internal communication (what matters, what doesn’t, what’s blocked)
- Durable processes around planning, prioritization, and execution—without PMO theater
- Trust across the organization through consistency, discretion, and follow-through
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
- The CEO is meaningfully unblocked on execution
- Cross-team initiatives ship faster with fewer surprises
- Important issues surface early instead of late
- Decisions stick and get implemented
- The company feels more aligned, not more process-heavy
What we’re looking for
- 7–15+ years of experience in high-accountability environments (tech, infrastructure, defense, government, finance, or similarly demanding domains)
- Proven ability to operate across strategy and execution
- Strong written and verbal communication; can synthesize complexity into clarity
- Comfort handling sensitive information with discretion and judgment
- Bias toward action, ownership, and follow-through
- Ability to challenge the CEO constructively when needed
Strongly preferred
- Experience working directly with a founder or CEO
- Background in deep-tech, infrastructure, or systems-heavy companies
- Exposure to government, national labs, or regulated environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, or existing active clearance
- Prior experience operating in cleared or export-controlled environments
Level
Senior individual contributor role reporting directly to the CEO.
Compensation
Compensation includes salary and meaningful equity aligned with responsibility and impact, with deliberate differentiation for outsized performance.
Education
We do not require specific degrees. We care about evidence of judgment, operational excellence, and the ability to turn ambiguity into execution.
How we work
Computational Co is a high-agency, high-accountability environment. We value clarity, ownership, and direct feedback. This role requires comfort with ambiguity and responsibility—paired with strong support and trust.
Remote-first, with periodic travel as needed (including Washington, DC and other mission hubs). Work may involve collaboration with regulated or sovereign-adjacent institutions; discretion and professionalism matter.
