Chief of Staff

We are partnering with a clinical stage biotechnology company to appoint an R&D Chief of Staff who will play a central role in the leadership and coordination of a complex global clinical development program. Working closely with senior R&D leadership, this individual will connect strategy with the needs of the development organization, ensuring priorities remain aligned across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, regional teams, and external partners.

This is a broad, highly cross functional role for someone who can move between strategic thinking and practical problem solving, translating development priorities into coordinated plans, identifying emerging challenges and dependencies, and bringing the right people together to keep the program moving forward.

Candidates must be living in the Northeast

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the central point of integration across R&D, connecting strategy, priorities, and activities across the development program.
• Lead the core program team, coordinating work across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, regional teams, and external partners.
• Translate R&D priorities into clear actions and plans, ensuring teams remain aligned as the program progresses.
• Identify emerging risks, dependencies, and gaps across workstreams, and drive practical solutions to keep the program moving forward.
• Partner closely with senior R&D leadership to support decision making, prioritization, and resolution of complex program challenges.
• Help evolve the R&D operating model, introducing structure where needed while maintaining the flexibility of a lean organization.

Requirements:

• Experience within biotechnology, healthcare consulting, or a related environment
• Strong understanding of Clinical Development and/or Clinical Operations
• Experience working across multiple R&D functions and senior stakeholders
• Experience supporting complex clinical development programs
• Ability to operate effectively within a small, fast moving organization
