- Based in the Level One 763-bed Trauma and Academic Center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
- Provides comprehensive otolaryngology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area.
- Otolaryngology services are also provided in several other Carilion hospitals and satellite locations in the region.
- Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and otolaryngologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.
- Team of nine Otolaryngologists, seven Advanced Clinical Practitioner's, five Audiologists and one audiology assistant.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of nine Otolaryngologists, seven Advanced Clinical Practitioner's, five Audiologists and one audiology assistant.
- Direct the clinical, educational, and research activities for the Section.
- Plan and build a future Otolaryngology Residency Program.
- Combine patient care, teaching of medical students and residents, and faculty development.
- Provide comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for adults and children.
Compensation
- Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
- Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary.

Requirements
- MD/DO
- Board Certification in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery
- At least 5 years of progressive otolaryngology leadership in an academic setting with an academic rank of at least Associate Professor
- Evidence of strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Physician leadership experience with emphasis on team building; development of integrated collaborative models of care, education, and research; and managing people and programs.
- Academic appointment at VTCSOM.
- Experience with graduate medical education is preferred.
