Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital is seeking a Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary in Oceanside, NY. This leadership role involves developing clinical services, providing administrative oversight, and managing quality and safety metrics within a growing division. The selected candidate will also maintain a clinical practice in gastroenterology and will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Practice Info
- Division of Gastroenterology has 10 physician faculty members, including general GI, advanced interventionalists, mobility, IBD and hepatology experts.
- Full-time GI faculty at Mount Sinai Doctors Practices across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
- Hospital provides a full platform of specialized high-tech interventions (POEMS, EUS, etc.) in a busy endoscopy unit.
- Hospital performs complex hepatobiliary procedures, has an IBD center, a Mobility Center, and two new major outpatient state-of-the-art ambulatory pavilions.
- Division has 8 GI fellows (6 regular GI fellows plus 2 advanced interventional fellows) and participates closely with Internal Medicine and General Surgery residency programs.
- Division partners closely with the world-renowned main NYC Mount Sinai academic program and produces significant academic publications each year.
Responsibilities

Compensation
- Compensation range from $550,000 to $650,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
- Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.

Requirements
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- New York Medical License
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Prior leadership experience
- Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
- Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
- Ideal candidate: practiced for at least five years and has a demonstrated interest in and commitment to overseeing a large and expanding GI service
