Chief of Dermatology & Mohs Surgery

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Chief of Dermatology & Mohs Surgery to lead an established team of 14 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in an academic, multisite practice in Roanoke, Virginia. This leadership role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive dermatologic, cosmetic, and micrographic surgery & dermatologic oncology services while engaging in teaching, research, and mentorship at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. The position is based in a state-of-the-art facility across from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 763-bed Level 1 trauma and academic health center.

Practice Info

• Lead an established team of 14 physicians and Advance Practice Providers.
• Academic, multisite practice.
• Provide comprehensive dermatologic, cosmetic, and micrographic surgery & dermatologic oncology to a catchment area of over 1 million people.
• Faculty appointments are through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
• Additional research opportunities exist through the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and VTCSOM medical students.
• New, state-of-the-art facility located on the Medical School campus across the street from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

• Lead an established team of 14 physicians and Advance Practice Providers.
• Engage in teaching, research, and mentorship opportunities.
• Provide the highest level of comprehensive dermatologic, cosmetic, and micrographic surgery & dermatologic oncology.

Compensation

• Salary Range, $615,479 to $729,537.
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary.
• Sign on bonus.

Requirements

• Current board certification in Dermatology.
• 5 years of progressive Dermatology leadership in an academic setting with a rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Experience with team building; development of integrated collaborative models of care, education, and research; and managing people and programs.
• Experience with graduate medical education is preferred.
