Regional VP, Cardiology & Chief of Cardiology

Northwell Health is seeking a physician executive to serve as Regional VP, Cardiology for the Northwell Cardiovascular Institute and Chief of Cardiology for Danbury and New Milford Hospitals. This role offers a unique opportunity for a visionary leader to drive clinical excellence, academic advancement, and strategic program development within the largest healthcare provider in the tri-state area. The position involves shaping the future of cardiovascular care across the region and providing comprehensive oversight for cardiology divisions at two hospitals.

• The Institute's Centers of Excellence focus on the cardiovascular patient and care team to provide comprehensive, expert care across the vast network.
• Clinical programs are comprehensive, covering all areas within cardiovascular medicine, intervention, and surgery.
• Approximately 400 cardiologists care for patients across 100 office locations and 23 hospitals, utilizing a team-based approach.
• Regional leads are empowered to steward their region and work with other regional and system representatives to ensure consistent and streamlined strategies and oversight.

Responsibilities

• Play a crucial role in shaping the future of cardiovascular care across the region, including the Hudson Valley and Western Connecticut.
• Drive standardization of best practices, clinical protocols, and quality metrics.
• Identify and implement innovative care delivery models and technologies.
• Facilitate collaboration and integration across the region and system.
• Participate in system-wide strategic planning for the Cardiovascular Institute, contributing to its overall mission and growth.
• Serve as a key liaison between site-based cardiology and the broader Northwell Cardiovascular Institute.
• Provide comprehensive clinical, operational, and strategic oversight for the Division of Cardiology at both Danbury and New Milford Hospitals.
• Oversee clinical cardiology services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, quality, and safety.

Shift & Schedule

• Approximately 50% effort will be towards clinical cardiology, commensurate with the individual's training and expertise.

Requirements

• Proven track record of progressive leadership within an academic and/or complex healthcare environment.
• Board-certified cardiologist (any sub-specialty).
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.
• Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ability to integrate local initiatives with broader regional strategic initiatives.
