Within delegated authority, the Chief of Communications will be responsible for the following:
- Lead and strategically guide the activities of the communication sections and units to ensure strategic alignment and effective delivery of the organization's objectives.
- Provide the vision and leadership to develop and implement the communications strategy to strengthen understanding of organizational objectives, activities and impact, drive engagement, and build support with target audiences.
- Guide and manage different communications workstreams bringing them together under shared objectives, such as digital communications, media relations, outreach, campaigns, and partnerships. Convene and coordinate with other UN entities and partners, as appropriate.
