Chief of Anesthesiology

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with New York City H+H Queens, is seeking a Chief of Anesthesiology. This physician leader will join a team at Queens Hospital, serving culturally diverse communities and contributing to research efforts. The role offers an opportunity to lead the Anesthesiology department within a modern medical center.

• Queens Hospital was recognized at ASCOs plenary session for their research efforts in enrolling patients in a diverse community.
• Candidates interested in being an investigator in clinical trials for cooperative group studies, pharmaceutical studies and/or physician-initiated studies will have full support of knowledgeable research staff for both regulatory and clinical needs.
• Experienced physician assistants within the urology department assist with inpatient, outpatient and operative patient care.
• The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the administration, planning, organizing and overall general management of the Anesthesia department.
• Provide services to patients of all ages, with possible multiple diseases, trauma, pregnancy or other complications.

Compensation

• Compensation ranges from $469,000 to $525,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

Requirements

• Must have a MD or DO degree
• Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
• Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
• Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior management/leadership positions and experience with academic medical centers and/or public health systems are preferred
• Faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications
