Responsibilities

  • Assure safety and effectiveness of health center clinical services; develop and maintain professional standards, policies, and procedures with COO and others.
  • Provide vision and leadership to continually improve clinical quality of offered medical and dental services; develop and communicate a QI Plan and serve on QIHR Committee.
  • Implement disease management programs, clinical protocols, guidelines, and review outcomes to ensure quality management.
  • Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate clinical professionals directly or via delegation.
  • Ensure competence of professional clinical staff through credentialing, privileging, licensing, and adherence to practice guidelines, privacy, and customer service standards.
  • Supervise clinical leaders, assign and direct work, monitor productivity, approve time‑off requests, conduct performance appraisals, address complaints, and take appropriate disciplinary action per Tap 360 policies.
  • Direct provider scheduling and on‑call schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient access to quality healthcare.
  • Assist CEO, Compliance, and Quality teams with compliance to HRSA Clinical Outcomes, healthcare indicators, and 330 requirements.
  • Provide direct patient care for 10‑20% of time and serve as collaborating or supervising physician to selected providers.
  • Develop annual provider compensation budgets and, with other leaders, establish encounter volume; provide input on purchasing, productivity, and other financial data to monitor performance and achieve benchmarks.
  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate provider staff meetings and educational seminars; coordinate resident and medical student training; develop an annual clinical team training plan.
  • Develop broad knowledge of the electronic health record (EHR) to support quality and billing effectiveness; work with the internal health information team and external partners to resolve EHR issues.
  • Participate in strategic planning, strategy execution, and accreditation activities as part of the Executive Leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree, preferably in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
  • Current Illinois medical license.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Five‑plus years of experience as a practicing physician in a community‑based health center.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand clinical practice management concepts such as productivity, documentation, privacy, and support staff supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior management and/or healthcare leadership roles.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and prepare case notes and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures/protocol manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of case managers, clients, media requests, and the public.
  • Fluency in Spanish desired.

Competencies

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
