Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | 40 hours per week

CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for an onsite contract opportunity supporting our public-sector client in Glendale, Arizona. This role will lead the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, compliance, and security operations to protect enterprise systems, networks, and sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise cybersecurity strategies, policies, and programs.
• Establish security governance practices aligned with organizational priorities and recognized industry standards.
• Direct security risk assessments and oversee plans to address vulnerabilities.
• Oversee compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations, standards, and internal policies.
• Lead security incident response, threat management, and remediation efforts.
• Oversee security monitoring, vulnerability management, and threat detection.
• Evaluate security architecture, controls, processes, and technologies and recommend improvements.
• Partner with executive leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders on cybersecurity priorities.
• Guide security awareness and organizational risk management practices.
• Present cybersecurity risks, program performance, and recommendations to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in information security and senior cybersecurity leadership.
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing enterprise cybersecurity strategies and governance programs.
• Strong experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and security policy development.
• Experience overseeing security operations, incident response, and threat management.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST and ISO 27001.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, controls, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to explain complex cybersecurity issues to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Public-sector, government, municipal, or other regulated-industry experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, Director of Information Security, or equivalent preferred.
• CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC certification preferred.

This position requires working onsite in Glendale, AZ, Monday through Friday.
