St. Vincent’s Medical Center, part of Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, is seeking a Chief of Infectious Diseases to lead an integrated team in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This leadership role involves guiding departmental growth, mentoring junior faculty, and collaborating with a network of over 25 system-wide ID physicians. The position offers a balance of inpatient consultations, outpatient care, and academic involvement with Quinnipiac University.

- Lead a department of 4 physicians and interact with 25 Infectious Disease physicians around the system
- Reporting to the System Director of Infectious Disease
- Active Hospitalist program to care for inpatients
- Appointment to Quinnipiac University at the Assistant Professor level
Responsibilities
- Continued growth of the Section of Infectious Disease
- Establishing communication lines with all services lines to provide support
- Mentorship of junior faculty
- Oversee the hospital epidemiology program, working closely with Infection Prevention
- Work closely with our Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists
- Inpatient consultations at St Vincent’s Medical Center
- Outpatient office including outpatient HIV and Hepatitis C patient treatment, STDs and travel medicine
- System-wide collaboration with over 25 ID physician colleagues
- Post graduate medical education for residents as well as medical students
- Shared call with other ID physicians

Requirements
- Board Certification in Infectious Disease
- MD or DO degree
- Eligibility for Connecticut medical licensure
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience
- Prior leadership experience (e.g., Section Chief, Medical Director) (Preferred)
- Experience in a multi-site health system (Preferred)
