Chief Financial Officer (CFO)We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a growing energy solutions provider. The CFO will serve as a key partner to the executive leadership team, overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This includes financial strategy, planning, reporting, budgeting, risk management, and ensuring long-term financial health.

The CFO will lead financial operations to support growth, optimize performance, and enable investments in innovative engineering and decarbonization initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all financial operations including accounting, payroll, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow managementDevelop and implement financial strategy aligned with organizational growth objectivesPrepare and present financial reports for executive leadership and board stakeholdersOversee internal controls, compliance, and audit processesManage annual operating and capital budgets; monitor performance and drive corrective actionsLead FP&A to evaluate business initiatives and support decision-makingOversee capital raising, financing, and funding strategies to support expansionOptimize working capital and ensure liquidity for operationsPartner with operations and engineering teams to develop financial modelsManage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and external stakeholdersSupport acquisitions through financial assessment and integrationLead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance teamImplement and maintain financial systems, tools, and ERP/accounting platformsEnsure compliance with financial regulations, tax filings, and reporting requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred10+ years of senior finance leadership experience (CFO, VP Finance, or Director of Finance) in construction, utilities, engineering, or related industriesStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP standards and private company financial operationsExperience with public-sector or municipal contracting, incentives, or energy-efficiency programs strongly desiredProven ability to raise capital and manage financing (debt, equity, grants, project financing)Track record of establishing and maintaining internal controls, audit, and compliance frameworksStrong leadership and people development skillsProficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skillsExcellent analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skillsHigh integrity, ethical standards, and ability to operate in a mission-driven organizationStrong stakeholder management abilities, including external partners (banks, investors, municipalities)Must be physically based in New Jersey; travel as neededWork EnvironmentOffice-based role with standard climate-controlled environmentNormal noise levelsProlonged periods of desk/computer workAbility to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
