Chief Financial Officer

Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a well-established nonprofit health & human services organization in Brooklyn, NY.

This role is fully on-site and offers a salary range up to $200,000 a year.

Our client is a respected nonprofit providing a wide range of community health and support services.

We're looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead all things finance: strategy, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management — while partnering closely with the CEO, Board, and program leaders to keep the mission moving forward.

What you'll own:

• Full oversight of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Revenue cycle & billing oversight — Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance
• Compliance with nonprofit and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HRSA, OMH, OASAS)
• Serving as primary financial liaison to the Board of Directors and Audit/Risk Committees
• Leading annual audits, tax filings, and funder/grant reporting
• Mentoring and developing the finance team

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years of progressive financial management leadership, ideally within a complex nonprofit or healthcare organization
• Experience with behavioral health billing / healthcare revenue cycle management
• Familiarity with NYS Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) filing
• Experience with private foundation grants a plus
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
• A hands-on leader with strong integrity, and diplomacy
• 5 plans for Health/Dental/Vision - organization will contribute anywhere from 37% to 85% of plans
• 20 days of PTO, 25 after 5 years
• 9 days of sick time
• 4 days of personal time
• Early summer Friday’s. Early holiday leave
• 403b contribution, discretionary (last year, org match paid 100%)
• Student loan repayment ($1200 contribution)
