About the Company
Zapp Talent Strategies is partnering with a growing Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) that partners with credit unions and financial institutions across the US, providing strategic technology consulting, infrastructure project implementation, and managed IT services.
Position Summary
The CFO will serve as the senior finance leader for the organization, owning day-to-day accounting and financial operations while also serving as a key strategic and executive voice. This is a hands-on role: you will personally manage core accounting and reporting functions (with one direct report) while also reporting monthly to the Board of Directors and playing an active role in M&A due diligence, HR/benefits administration, and contract and legal matters. This role is well suited to a finance leader who wants high visibility and board-level exposure without requiring a large team beneath them. MSP or similar tech-services/consulting industry experience is highly valued given the nature of the business.

- Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis
- Lead financial due diligence and support M&A evaluation as the company assesses inbound and outbound growth opportunities
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy

- Manage and mentor one direct report
- Support the transition and integration of financial data into a new company-wide CRM/operations platform
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including prior Controller or CFO-level experience
- MSP, IT services, or technology consulting industry experience strongly preferred, understanding of the MSP business model is a key differentiator for this role
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting at a company of similar size (~$10-25M revenue)
- Prior experience supporting M&A due diligence and evaluation
- Comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment with direct ownership of core accounting functions
- Experience presenting to a Board of Directors or executive leadership team
- Strong communication skills and comfort operating cross-functionally across HR, legal, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus but not required
