Salary: $145,000–$155,000 + Relocation Assistance
We are seeking an experienced, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting tropical plants, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors, the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership and help ensure the organization’s long-term financial health and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic planning
- Provide financial reporting and guidance to the Board of Directors
- Oversee risk management, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
- Strengthen financial systems, controls, and long-term planning
- Lead and mentor finance, IT, HR, and administrative team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- MBA or CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial management experience
- 5+ years of nonprofit financial leadership experience
- Strong background in budgeting, financial strategy, reporting, and compliance
- Proven leadership and team-development skills
- Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
