Chief Financial Officer is responsible for leading the financial strategy, accounting operations, cash

management, budgeting, forecasting,

job-cost accounting, project profitability, working-capital management, and financial risk across the

Company’s operations.

The Company engages an independent CPA firm to perform a review of the Company’s financial

statements. The CFO coordinates with the CPA firm and internal personnel to facilitate the review,

including preparing requested schedules and supporting documentation, explaining significant

account balances and transactions, reviewing draft financial statements, addressing review

inquiries, and assisting management with the representation process. The CFO also evaluates and

implements recommendations related to accounting procedures, internal controls, financial

reporting, and compliance.

Partners with the executive team, project managers, estimators, and employee-owners to align

financial performance with the company’s long-term employee-ownership objectives. Provides

transparent financial information that helps employee-owners understand the company’s

performance, profitability, cash flow, backlog, and value creation.

The CFO also supports ESOP-related financial and fiduciary coordination, including accurate

financial reporting, valuation processes, annual ESOP administration, audit and review

requirements, trustee and advisor relationships, and compliance with applicable plan and

corporate obligations. The CFO works closely with company leadership, the ESOP trustee, third-

party administrators, the independent CPA firm, lenders, and surety partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and management reports
  • Coordinating the CPA firm’s review of the Company’s financial statements
  • Providing the CPA firm with requested trial balances, schedules, reconciliations, contracts,
  • supporting documentation, and management explanations
  • Reviewing financial statement drafts and ensuring reported information is accurate and complete
  • Responding to CPA review inquiries and tracking the resolution of outstanding items
  • Evaluating and implementing recommendations arising from the financial statement review
  • Overseeing job-cost accounting, work-in-progress schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, retainage, change orders, and cost-to-complete estimates
  • Monitoring project margins, backlog, committed costs, productivity, and construction risk
  • Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and working capital
  • Supporting ESOP valuation, annual plan administration, financial statement reviewprocedures, and required reporting
  • Providing accurate and timely information to the ESOP trustee and other plan-related advisors
  • Promoting financial literacy and ownership awareness among employee-owners
  • Maintaining strong internal controls over company assets, project costs, cash, and financial reporting
  • Supporting banking, bonding, insurance, and surety relationships
  • Evaluating capital expenditures, equipment purchases, financing alternatives, and strategic investments
  • Coordinating corporate tax compliance and relationships with external tax and accounting advisors
  • Advising leadership, including the Board of Directors, and employee-owners on profitable growth, operational efficiency, risk management, and long-term enterprise value
  • Ensuring financial decisions support both the company’s objectives and the interests of its employee-owners
