Chief Financial Officer

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with an established, privately held organization in Crofton, MD to identify a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. This opportunity will oversee the accounting and finance functions across a multi-company organization. The CFO will partner closely with executive leadership while providing strategic financial leadership and hands-on operational support across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting and finance function, including financial reporting, month-end close, audit, internal controls, and compliance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital, and financial analysis.
• Provide financial leadership across a multi-company environment while supporting the needs of individual businesses and the broader organization.
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and long-term business objectives.
• Drive process and systems improvements while leading and developing the accounting and finance team.

Ideal Background:

• Current or previous CFO experience within a privately held organization.
• Experience leading accounting and finance within a multi-company or multi-entity environment.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and working capital.
• Hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating at both the strategic and day-to-day operational level.
• Experience improving financial processes, systems, and controls while leading and developing accounting and finance teams.
• CPA preferred.
