The Chief Executive Officer provides strategic vision, comprehensive leadership, and operational management for all of Teton Valley Health Care. As leader of the Senior Management team the CEO ensures the financial viability and overall success of the organization. The CEO is responsible for the attainment of the Hospital’s Mission and maintains working relationships throughout the community. This position is expected to take administrative “call” on a regularly rotating schedule.Teton Valley Healthcare is just outside of Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone.

Board Related Responsibilities
- Ensures sound fiscal operation of the organization including timely, accurate and comprehensive development of an annual budget and its implementation following Board of Trustees’ approval.
- Responsible for providing strategic leadership for TVHC by working with the Board of Trustees and the Executive Management Team to establish goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
- Informs and educates the Board of Trustees in current trends, issues, problems and activities in healthcare generally, in community health needs and in the institution to facilitate policy making and meeting TVHC strategic plan.
- Submit regularly to the Board of Trustees, County Commissioners, and Hospital Members periodic reports showing the professional service and financial activities of the hospital.
- Interprets and administer policies of the Board of Trustees and acts as the technical advisor and liaison officer in matters involving formulation of these policies.
Hospital Operations Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with regulations and licensure maintenance governing the organizations/facilities and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the organization’s service delivery and by initiating changes as required.
- Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of TVHC are put into practice.
- Formulates, attracts, retains, motivates and supervises an effective management team.
- Coordinates efforts of the Medical Staff, Board of Trustees, and Administrative Staff in the recruitment and retention of Medical Staff and allocation of financial and human resources
- Ensures adequate staffing and training for the safety and protection of the hospital patients.
- Works with the Human Resource Department and the Hospital Board of Trustees to develop and maintain personnel policies and practices for the Organization.
- Plans for the provision of equipment and facilities consistent with community needs and goals of the hospital.
- Participation in TVHC peer review by the collection, interpretation and analysis of data for the purpose of bettering the delivery of health care, reducing patient morbidity and mortality and improving the quality of patient care. These activities will support quality assurance and improvement, patient safety investigations and analysis, patient adverse outcome reviews, and root‑cause analysis and investigation activities.
- Professional review action, meaning an action or recommendation which is taken or made in the conduct of peer review, that is based on the competence or professional conduct of an individual provider where such conduct adversely affects or could adversely affect the health or welfare of a patient or the provider’s privileges or employment or membership in the health care organization.
Community Relations Responsibilities
- Encourages the integration of the facility with the community by using effective communication and public relation programs.
- Informs community and business groups about healthcare issues and the facilities programs to meet TVHC healthcare needs and to promote health awareness.
- Promotes fund raising in the community to improve the facility.
Summary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in business management or equivalent field of study and equivalent years of healthcare management experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with community members, patients, families, and all health care professionals and TVHC staff
- Ability to correspond to inquiries or complaints from vendors, patients or general business community as well as present information in public and private settings
- Advanced knowledge in computer use; including skills in word processing, presentation, data mining, and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience in reading, interpreting and analyzing financial reports, business reports and journals, as well as reports issued by financial and accounting regulatory agencies
- Ability to type, 10‑key and proofread with accuracy and attention to fine details
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years or more experience in Hospital/Healthcare Administrative role.
- Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives
- Additional languages – Spanish Preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to move throughout the facility transporting files and other items weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Written and spoken communication skills require ability to speak, hear and see.
- Critical thinking and good judgment needed to be able to follow legal processes and hospital policies .
- Ability to work extended hours in high stress environments.
