Responsibilities
- Manage the overall bid process for estimating steel projects
- Prepare detailed estimates of structural steel projects including labor, equipment, and material fabrication costs
- Maintain BuildingConnected bid invitations
- Collaborate with Business Unit Leader, General Superintendent, Safety Department, and Quality Manager to develop bid strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or a minimum of ten years’ experience in the construction industry
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial structural steel or miscellaneous metals
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents
- Proficiency in using software programs related to structural steel design and estimation
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
