Gryphon Oakwood is partnered with a growing electrical contractor in Connecticut to hire an experienced Chief Estimator.
This is an opportunity for a proven electrical estimating professional to take a leading role within the estimating function, pricing complex commercial, Industrial and Government electrical projects and helping support the company’s continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the electrical estimating process
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Complete detailed take-offs and develop competitive bid strategies
- Build and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify project risks, value engineering, and cost-saving opportunities
- Work closely with preconstruction, operations, and business development teams
- Support project handover following award
- Mentor and develop estimating team members
Requirements
- Proven track record pricing complex commercial electrical projects
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Experience leading, mentoring, or overseeing estimating professionals
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines effectively
- Based in or willing to work within Connecticut
