Job TitleEssential Functions, Duties, And ResponsibilitiesTasks may include, but are not limited to the following:Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston divisionSupervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimatorsDevelop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexityReview RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitivenessManage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectivesReview quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawingsCommunicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationshipsPrepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of workConduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiativesDevelop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffsMaintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standardsEstablish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practicesParticipate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as neededAnalyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracyProvide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-makingAttend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationshipsMaintain confidentiality of all departmental and company informationAssist with additional duties as required to support business objectivesQualifications: Education, Experience, and SkillsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferredExperience Requirements:10 or more years of electrical estimating experienceProven experience leading and developing estimating teamsStrong understanding of commercial electrical construction practicesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Advanced knowledge of estimating software, including AccubidStrong analytical, organizational, and time-management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making capabilitiesAssociated Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to collaborate effectively with operations, leadership, and external partnersStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to develop long-term strategies aligned with company growth goalsProfessional judgment in high-impact financial and contractual decisionsAbility to uphold and model core values
